It’s birthday time again at the Pybas house. Angela shares a birthday with her dad and her Granddad (on her Mom’s side). Usually, they celebrate them all together. This year was different, though. Warren turned 50 this year, so Dawne planned a surprise party. We told Warren that we would see him Saturday, to make him think we wouldn’t be there on Friday (his birthday :). Dawne even went as far as calling Tulsa on Friday to wish Angela a happy birthday to help throw Warren off.
We met at Charleston’s on the NW Expressway. To make sure everyone had time to get there before Warren did, Dawne enlisted Justin’s help. He decided to go to dinner with them, but “wouldn’t be able” to go to dinner until about 6:45. Having successfully stalled the Birthday Boy, we gathered at the restaurant and waited. From the look on his face when he got there, I’d say the surprise worked.
The next day, we all went to her Grandmother’s house to celebrate the other birthdays. It was a pretty big deal. Angela’s uncle and cousins came up from Shawnee, and Warren’s parents came over as well (they were at Charleston’s too, obviously ;). We all ate a big meal then the Birthday People got to open their gifts. Ang and I got some good stuff! 😉
