We got snowed in in OKC. Apart from unsafe road conditions, the heater in my car quit working, so we had to put it in the shop. It was pretty funny because we took mine since Ang’s was having problems. Anyway, we spent the next day and a half relaxing and playing games. It was a great time. Better than any day at work. 😉

Christmas Day was crazy. We started it out at my parents’ house. My sister and her family were planning on getting there at about ten. Ang and I, though, needed to get to her grandparents’ house (big family tradition), and bad weather was rolling in. We went ahead and opened the gifts for/from us there, and saved the those for my sister’s family for when they got there.

About midmorning, Chad, Julie, Dallas, and Dakota showed. The kids were excited, as all kids are, so we went right to giving them their gifts. It was fun watching them tear through paper and run from one gift to the next as I’m sure I’ve done. 🙂

Once the festivities were done and we had a chance to visit for a while, we decided that if we were going to go, we had better do it then. So, we loaded up the car, said our good-byes, and headed out. The roads were pretty slick, but not impassable if you were careful. When we finally reached her granparents’ house, the ice on the windshield and wipers was nearing total converage. The antenna on the back of the car was covered in (and I’m not exaggerating) an inch of ice. It was probably a dangerous drive, but I promised her I’d get there. I’m sure we had an angel riding with us. 😉

We had a great time there. Her grandmother (guess that makes both of them) is a great cook. We ate too much, then got down to the gift exchange. Ang’s great aunt and uncle were up from Texas, so we got to celebrate Christ’s birth with them.

After the gift exchange, we drove, very slowly, back to Warren and Dawne’s house to beat the weather.
