Thanksgiving

It’s thanksgiving day and what a busy one it was for us. We went to Ang’s parents’ house the night before and stayed there. The next day, after sleeping in a bit, got up and cooked our part for the feast to come. Once we had all that ready, we headed to her Grandparents in south OKC where the whole family would celebrate the holiday. Both her parents’ parents were there, as well as her aunt and uncle from Shawnee. It was a fun time. We shared what Thanksgiving meant to each of us, then had a huge meal. After eating, we watched a football game and made some crafts. Craft time is an age old tradition in the Pybas/Garlow family. While the men watch football, the women make a craft (although this year, there was quite a bit of cross over being done.) This year’s craft was little wooden snowmen. Our two snowmen are sitting on the mantle at home. They turned out really well.

That wasn’t the end of the holiday for us. About early evening, we hopped back in the car, and headed to my parents’ house. Things there were a little more laid back. I think the turkey was starting to get to everybody by then. We sat around and talked, ate more food, and napped. It was a nice, quiet break from the pace of life in Tulsa. The next day we headed back to Tulsa to decorate for Christmas and get ready for Bedlam football.
